Ernst Haeckel was a 19th century German scientist and artist. Through the recently advanced technology of the microscope he discovered and beautifully rendered over 5000 one-celled micro-organisms, which he called "radiolaria", as well as drawing many other more complex life forms in excetional detail and with astounding skill. He was continually captivated by the never-ending variety and magnificent beauty of what he referred to as "Art In Nature". This video is a tribute to Ernst Haeckel and his inspired contributions to science, art and imagination.
